Old Meets New Addition
Care was taken to create an addition to seamlessly fit the original home on the interior and exterior while creating a family space and master ensuite. We removed the back porch and master deck above. Staying close to the footprint we added a family room on the main floor and a master bathroom upstairs. Originally, on the main floor, a small room off the kitchen was being utilized as a homework area. With the additional square footage the homeowners added a family room. Wainscotting and trim in the original style were installed in the new family room. A custom mantel was created for the new gas fireplace. Custom shelving was built near the new French doors.
New hardwood was woven seamlessly into the existing kitchen hardwood flooring. Two new windows were added on either side of the fireplace. Previously the exterior door in the upstairs master led to a porch, now it leads to a beautiful bathroom. The bathroom boasts a split double vanity with Carrera marble top, tile backsplash, water closet and heated tile floor. The tile shower has duel shower heads and a tiled bench. The new trim and doors match the existing closely. On the exterior, the existing soffit detail was re-created in the new addition. A large Trex deck was built. A gas line was run for the BBQ. New low maintenance landscaping, lighting and a fence with double gates were installed. Inside and out this project achieved the seamless look our homeowners wanted.
