Clean Those Hood Vents
If you roasted one of the 51 million turkeys Americans consumed over the Thanksgiving holiday, you probably made a few side dishes too. Our ovens, stoves and hood vents could use a good cleaning. Cleaning hood vents should be a chore done annually. It’s really easy. You’ll need Borax Detergent Booster and a pair of gloves.
Remove the hood vent filter. Fill your sink with hot water. Mix in a 1/4 cup of Borax. Put the dirty filters in the water and let them soak for 15 minutes. Put on the gloves before you dip your hands in the water. Drain the sink and wipe any greasy residue off the filters. You can soak them again if needed. Give the filters a good rinse. Dry and re-install.
